CEREBRAL FORCE

   Who wants to be called 'mental' or 'weak' or 'branded' as a 'pre- existing' condition.

    Instead stigma continues. I'm angry that I need to hide. I've avoided putting together a site like this because of understandable paranoia...because of the stigma and shame of my  'disease'. Because this information about my life can and already has been used against me.

   How can diseases such as drug addiction or Type 2 diabetes get sympathy when we don't? No one deserves the shame, stigma, and silence to get help from addiction. Many suffer from diseases by no fault of their own. I have sympathy for the suffering and pain people go through. No one deserves the shame, stigma, and silence.

   Those of us with a 'mental disease' have little choice but to take our meds. We had bad luck with the gene lottery. Being born with a disease doesn't give society the permission to treat us with such scorn. Medication is our life long punishment...at least for now. We don't need more punishment than that. It's still mind boggling to me that we don't get  support and empathy from society.
